At the end of last year, a customer told me that 2017 is the Year of the Rooster. It starts January 28th.
Now, for me, every year is the year of the rooster(!), but in this case, it means that the rooster is the animal sign for 2017, according to the Chinese lunar calendar.
I am no expert on this, but I was somewhat familiar with the 12 zodiac animals and repeating 12-year cycle. Curious to learn more, I did a little research and found a few interesting points:
- There are 5 types of roosters: wood, fire, earth, water, gold. Who knew?
- The year of 2017 is a fire rooster. So far, so good.
- The year of one’s birth sign (this year, rooster) is considered to be the most unlucky of the 12-year cycle. Uh oh.
The Things You Learn
I plugged in my birthday, and found that I am not a rooster. heehee. But I do love them — real ones and glass ones — and will be focusing on adding new roosters to my shop regularly, for all the years. 😀
