I love jellyfish! I love their flowing tentacles and seemingly endless variety of colors, shapes, and patterns. It took me most of the last winter, but I finally figured out how to make a likeness of these beautiful animals, fully encased in clear glass.
I am happy with how they turned out, even if they are the most challenging glass item to photograph. 😳
This jellyfish has a lacy thin white striped cap with an aqua ‘fringe’ color (see details on the black background and ‘in hand’ photo). The outer layer of tentacles are fiery orange and the inner tentacles are semi-translucent blue. Each color was a custom cane created by me and pulled to ‘tentacle diameter’ for this piece. The bail (loop) is cobalt blue glass.
