Tealight — Square Peg

This tealight has a bit of an odd name, and here is the reason. I created this one with a bright red glass and gold-iridescent clear glass for a subtle sparkly effect. The clear glass also “dilutes” the red when fused together, creating windows for light. The iridescent glass only has a metallic coating on one side and can be fired up or down on the base glass for different effects. I chose to fire the metallic side down for the 16 pieces on this one to basically encapsulate the irid coating with the outward-facing clear. So far, so good.
I did great for 15 of the pieces, but… one square landed metallic side up. You can see a close up in the 4th photo. I like to think of this as a glassy treasure hunt!
This tealight holder was created in two fuse firings. I cut the base piece and fused the components together in the first firing. Then shaped the fused piece into this tealight holder in the second firing.
- This piece ships for free in the US.
- LED flicker tealight candle (not pictured) is included.
